In terms of HE institutions, this situation is clearer. The proportion of female professors has shown a good increase over the five years. But the epidemic has slowed its growth rate. From 10.35% in 2020 to 2.6% in 2021.

However, not all industries have suffered from this impact. Through the data of NHS consultants, the ratio gap of males and females among consultants in 2017-2021 is steadily decreasing year by year, and there is no obvious fluctuation due to the pandemic.
